Cartier Baignoire 1952
The roots of the Cartier Baignoire’s design came from another design from Louis Cartier, which was already seen in 1912. This eventually evolved in 1958 into the rounded silhouette of today’s Baignoire. The stories behind vintage watches is what truly excites us, and the Baignoire is filled with many. Many assume the Baignoire is a reference to the French word for “bathtub,” but instead a nod to the VIP seats at the opera.
This design was a bold departure from the traditional round watches of the era, but it wasn’t surprising, because Cartier has been, and still is innovative in their unique way of designing. Cartier have shown us their commitment to innovation and artistic expression through many models many times before.
The Baignoire distinguishes itself due to its iconic silhouette and timeless design features as the roman numerals, blued Epée hands and ofcourse the blue cabochon crown. This 90’s Baignoire is exactly how we would like to find them, in amazing condition. The 18K gold unpolished case together with the original Cartier strap which still features its original Cartier clasp is something you won’t see often.
The watch is fully serviced by our watchmakers and comes with a 1-year warranty!
