SSome watches are rare. Others tell a story that simply cannot be recreated. The Rolex Chameleon is one of those watches. Introduced in the early 1950s, it was unlike anything Rolex had produced before. Designed around an ingenious interchangeable strap system, it allowed its owner to transform the watch in seconds, decades before interchangeable straps became a trend.

Produced in numerous small variations throughout the 1950s and 1960s, the Chameleon remains one of Rolex's most overlooked and collectible creations. While this model is often seen with a gold dial, our example is fitted with a beautiful original silver sunburst dial, giving it an entirely different character. We always love a silver dial combined with a yellow gold case.

What immediately caught our attention is the remarkable condition. The case has developed a beautiful warm gold patina over the decades, something seasoned collectors greatly appreciate. Rather than polishing it away, we have left it untouched, as it is a wonderful indication that the watch has seen very little wear and has remained exceptionally well preserved. Of course, should the future owner prefer, the case can be professionally cleaned before delivery.

This Chameleon is offered with three interchangeable straps, allowing the watch to be transformed for different occasions exactly as Rolex intended. Should you wish to have more coloured straps, we can also have additional straps made in a wide variety of colours upon request.
