During the 1970s and early 1980s, Rolex briefly experimented with natural materials, introducing a small number of wood dials alongside its famous hardstone creations. Unlike a traditional dial, each wood dial was cut from a unique section of timber before being carefully lacquered and finished by hand. As a result, no two dials are ever exactly alike. Every grain, every pattern and every shade is entirely unique, making each watch a true one-of-one.
