Rolex Day-Date 1803 'Grey'
Vintage watches aren’t only defined by their condition, but by their history as well. The history of the Day-Date is maybe one of the most important ones from the Rolex line-up.
Launched in 1956 as a niche model and only produced in precious metals (yellow, white- and rose gold or platinum). The price of the Day-Date was way costlier than any other Rolex model, but that didn’t affected the desirability. It immediately became Rolex’ flagship model due to its popularity among a lot of prestigious people, for example presidents, which is also where its nickname ‘President’ comes from.
We all know that the dial is one of the most important features of a watch. That’s exactly why we get excited when we find a special dial like this one. It already is quite hard to find a well-preserved 1803 in white gold, but finding one with a grey dial from this period is something else. Plus this isn’t your regular grey dial, because this is a grey dial with the printing in white which is even more rare. We do get excited when we find pieces like this and it's a pleasure to offert these kind of pieces, but we always get mixed feelings. The reason for this is because it's unlikely to find another one soon..
The watch is fully serviced by our watchmakers and comes with one year of warranty!
