Vintage watches aren’t only defined by their condition, but by their history as well. The history of the Day-Date is maybe one of the most important ones from the Rolex line-up.

Launched in 1956 as a niche model and only produced in precious metals (yellow, white- and rose gold or platinum). The price of the Day-Date was way costlier than any other Rolex model, but that didn’t affected the desirability. It immediately became Rolex’ flagship model due to its popularity among a lot of prestigious people, for example presidents, which is also where its nickname ‘President’ comes from. 

This particular example is from the newer 180xx series, which is defined by some newer features as; an upgraded movement, which allows the wearer to set the day apart from the time, also known as the quick-set function. It also features the well beloved sapphire crystal, which is robust and gives the dial a clean look.

These modern upgrades don't interfere with it's vintage aesthetic, which is exactly why collectors love the 180xx series. 

The Day-Date is not only one of our favourites, but an industry favourite as well. This Rolex Day-Date 18038 has a special feature you probably already mentioned. The dial, which is a beautiful factory set diamond dial, every hour mark is complimented diamonds, but the 6 and 9 hour marker are a bit more special. These hour markers are complimented by baguette diamonds. Simply amazing.
