The Rolex Day-Date is a watch that almost doesn’t need any introduction. Its iconic history and importance in the world of watches is unmatched.

The Day-Date is the first automatic, waterproof, chronometer wristwatch that indicated both the date and day of the week. The Rolex Day-Date is first introduced in 1956, but this particular series we are offering today is first seen in 1988. The 182xx series were the fifth generation of Day-Dates, which meant it didn’t only featured its iconic design, but also the developments of the Day-Date model. The 182xx series featured the upgraded 3155 automatic (double quick-set) movement which allows the wearer to separately adjust the day and date discs. The 36mm case is simply perfect and always executed in a precious metal.

The variety in configurations is what makes the Day-Date interesting, but this particular example is exactly what defines the phrase; less is more. This unpolished Rolex Day-Date 18238 features a beautiful all-black dial with the iconic baton hands and hour markers.

Vintage watches are special on their own, but finding them in a condition like this one is what makes us exciting. The thick case, the bracelet shows no stretch and the dial is spotless.
