Rolex Oysterdate 6694
The Oysterdate line was first introduced in 1953 and was immediately appreciated. Rolex ran on with the production with great success until it was finally discontinued at the end of the 1980’s. The Oysterdate is one of the longest running models from Rolex and seen as Rolex’s last manual-wind watch, which results in many different variations and transitions. The wide variety of design features and overall configurations is exactly what makes a model interesting and collectible. The predecessor 6494 got replaced in the early 1960s by one of the brand’s most popular models, the Oysterdate 6694.
The 6694 was one of the most poplar models back then, because it didn’t only featured a higher-beat movement, but steady and tight craftsmanship throughout its entire production. This particular example dates back to 1966, and really showcases the interesting and timeless design features the Oysterdate had to offer. This 6694 features the iconic silver champagne dial with the earlier tapered hour-markers and beautiful baton hands. The lume plots on the hands are beautifully aged and still in tact, just as all the plots at the hour-markers. The hands and oyster bracelet are both replaced during a Rolex service, therefore the bracelet shows no stretch and the lume is fresh on the newer hands.
The watch is fully serviced by our watchmakers and comes with a 1-year warranty!
